Why Inclusivity Matters in My Photography Business

Let’s talk about something that’s incredibly close to my heart: inclusivity. It’s not just a buzzword or a tick-box exercise for me—it’s at the very core of everything I do as a wedding photographer. Because here’s the thing: when I look at my work, I want to see a collection of stories that represent everyone.

From ethnicity and culture to sexual orientation, gender identity, body shapes, abilities, and beyond, my goal has always been to create a brand where every single person feels seen, celebrated, and welcomed. Wedding photography should be about capturing love in all its beautiful, messy, unique forms—not just some cookie-cutter version of it.

A Brand You Can See Yourself In

I’ve always believed that people should be able to look at my website, my Instagram, or my portfolio and think, That could be us. That’s why representation in my work matters so much. When you see people who look like you, who share your story, it sends a powerful message: You belong here.

I know that finding a photographer can feel vulnerable. You’re trusting someone to step into your life, to capture one of the most important days of it, and you want to know they’ll respect and understand you. For me, being inclusive isn’t just about who I photograph—it’s about how I photograph them. It’s about creating a safe, comfortable space where everyone feels valued.

Why Representation Matters

Representation in photography isn’t just important; it’s transformative. Imagine being a young LGBTQIA+ couple searching for a photographer and seeing only traditional bride-and-groom images—would you feel confident that person understands your story? Or imagine scrolling through wedding photos as a person of colour or someone in a wheelchair and not seeing a single person who looks like you. It’s isolating, and it’s wrong.

That’s why I’m committed to making sure my portfolio reflects the beautifully diverse world we live in. Because love is love, and it doesn’t come in one shape, size, or colour.

Walking the Talk

Being inclusive is about more than just pretty pictures. It’s about how I run my business, the language I use, the way I communicate with clients, and the spaces I create. It’s about listening, learning, and always striving to do better.

I work hard to challenge the traditional norms of the wedding industry and to create images that feel real, authentic, and personal—because that’s what love is. And honestly? It’s one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

Let’s Create Something Beautiful Together

If you’ve ever felt like wedding photography wasn’t made for people like you, let me just say: it absolutely is. I’m here to tell your story, to celebrate your love, and to capture all the magic in a way that feels true to you.

So, whether you’re planning a big, bold celebration or an intimate elopement, know this: you belong in front of my camera. And I can’t wait to show you just how beautiful your story is.
